Across the diaspora, a troubling pattern emerged: children of Yoruba heritage were losing connection to their mother tongue. Parents watched helplessly as their children struggled to communicate with grandparents, missing out on the wisdom, stories, and cultural treasures encoded in the Yoruba language.
The lack of accessible, modern Yoruba teaching resources meant that families had few options. Traditional methods weren’t engaging younger learners, and quality instruction was hard to find outside Nigeria.
