Meet Olùkọ́ Abíọ́dún
Language Educator
Has taught over 2,000 hours of immersive Yoruba to students of all ages.
Yorùbá is not just a language to me. It is a living, a breathing expression of who we are. With a background in Yorùbá and Communication Arts, and over 2,000 hours of immersive teaching experience across different age groups, I have dedicated my career to making that aliveness felt in every lesson.
I teach the language the way it was meant to be experienced: through culture, context, and connection. My sessions are immersive by design, drawing on heritage, tradition, and the richness of Yorùbá expression to help students build real fluency, not just surface familiarity. Every student I work with, from beginners to advanced learners, leaves with a deeper relationship to the language.
As I often tell my students: I breathe èémí(life) into Yorùbá, weaving ọ̀rọ̀ (words) into stardust, sprinkle àdùn (sweetness) into lessons, whispering language in every syllable. That is the kind of learning experience I bring to every session at Alámòjá.
